SUNDARI WILDLIFE PROJECT

Contents of the program 2008.

• The continuation of the awareness programme in schools, about the respect for the wild fauna and its environment, as well as a weekly school program concerning the used dangerous products by the villagers (worn batteries, poison being of use to the illegal fishing, etc.)
• Press conferences, interviews radios, articles, to make sensitive the local populations, and denounce the direct involvement of the authorities in the poaching...
• Installation of garbage cans, situated in front of lodges, stores, entrance of the national park (head quarter), and creation of an incinerator.
• Creation of a pond in the buffer zone to attract birds and mammals ,
• Press the dirigents of the park, concerning the hunting and the illegal fishing in the heart of the park, as well as the illegal wood cutting and the voluntary poisoning of the water points.
• Employment of an ornithologist for a duration of 6 months, for a birds census, in the buffer zones , to study the behaviour of birds in nesting time.
